Public rights and freedoms in the legal state

The project "Strengthening the rule of law in Egypt during democratization" held two discussion groups titled public rights and freedoms in the legal state and how important they are in any democratic system. The groups presented the most important safeguards guaranteeing protection for those rights and freedoms, and presented the rule of law as a fundamental guarantee for rights and freedoms or as one of the solutions that may be included in addressing the establishment of a legal system that provides confidence and security in exercising rights and freedoms. Dr. Abbas Mabrouk (Professor of Law, Faculty of Law - Cairo University) introduced the debate axes in the groups that were held on the 11th and 13th of November 2012 at Al-Tahrir Lounge / Nile Delta. More than 65 lawyers participated in the discussion groups.
