Public rights and freedoms as a basis for the rule of law

The rights and freedoms of the individuals is the goal of the legal state, because the aim of the law is to protect individual rights and to work on strengthening its safeguards. For this the legal state is the basis that guarantees public rights and freedoms of individuals in the state. Based on this the project team held a workshop titled "Public Rights and Liberties" on Sunday, August 13 in Tanta and it was attended by about 55 lawyers. The discussion dealt with the division of rights and public freedoms in the Egyptian 1971-Constitution and a comparative study between rights and public freedoms in the Egyptian Constitution and the constitutions of the Scandinavian countries, with an indication of the most important safeguards for maintaining these rights especially under the rule of law.
