Social media played an important role in Egypt after the events of the revolution on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. For this reason we produced 3 short videos on October 15th to convey to the youth the importance of electoral participation. These videos were uploaded on the campaign’s channel on YouTube, and were linked to Facebook, Twitter, as well as the campaign’s website registering the largest number of viewers for videos urging the youth to participate in the parliamentary elections by linking this participation to civil, economic, social and political rights. Participation is the only way to improve the conditions of the citizens so they become decision makers and proper observers over the parliament members in their policy-making process.
